We’ve previously covered Indigo Movement on the blog recently when we took an in depth look at what goes on behind the scenes in our Label in Focus piece. Being massive fans of their expedition into bass music, they’ve yet again impressed the masses with the announcement of their latest release. Not only are they continuing to provide some of the best music for 140 fans, but with every release they continue to evolve as a label, driving a different style as the catalogue stacks up.
This time they present a delectable double pack of tracks from Icelandic producer, Eva808. She’s been the pinnacle of artists to emerge over the past few years and has been receiving large support from the likes of J:Kenzo, Joe Nice and many other big names. Having also been signed to Encrypted Audio’s mega-roster, this is surely the start of her reign as she’s bound to spread her fresh, yet old school sound over the scene.
‘Childhood’ formulates a really authentic sound, containing distinctive vinyl crackling and antiqued elements. It holds weight so perfectly, occasionally breaking away from the regular bass line to fluctuate a pleasurable wobble. It’s a prime example of an old school sounding piece which not only adheres to the conventional style of the genre, but has a real element of freshness about it. Not only is it instantly timeless, but it’ll sound immense on a massive sound system.
‘Balmy’ again preaches an old school flex, instigating a dynamic drum pattern alongside some enlightening features through the background piano keys. Bass lines are certainly Eva’s strongest point, this time instilling real momentum and again like ‘Childhood; the occasional minature wobble is delightfully placed.
I’d recommend this EP for anyone and I’d certainly usher people to check both Eva808 and Indigo Movement out if you haven’t heard of either of them. As I’ve said previously, the label pushes some of the best music in the scene and Eva has certainly got a huge future ahead of her. This release radiates originality, whilst also being an audio orgasm for the ears. We’ll be looking forward to plenty more music from her.
