MOR Drum & Bass Top 10 May

REDS – Meraki

I’m seriously digging the vibe in this track. It’s the first time in a while I’ve really enjoyed a liquid track like this. The flow and organic progression coupled with some lovely synths make it.

Digital + Spirit – Phantom Force (Fracture Remix)

With cable snaps throughout which remind me of the fences breaking in Jurassic Park, this is a truly heavy stomping track.

Dominic Ridgway – Killa

FKOF have been running a remix competition alongside Tribe 12; J.Robinsons label. This smooth dub influenced drum and bass track is a great sign of things to come from this competition, I can’t wait to hear more.

Ed:it + Pennygiles – Set Theory

Coming out on C.I.A records this track is so sweet. A brilliant collaboration between rolling drums and heavy synths. This track is definitely one to add to your buy lists.

Arkaik – Babylon Dub

This promo release on Different Music from Arkaik is incredible. The track has a lot of space and depth and yet never feels empty. Rather than having a lot going on, the focus here is obviously on quality.

Sunchase – 420

Platinum Breakz 4 was one of the highly most anticipated albums of the year for me. Being released last month I thought I would focus on just this one track, which I have decided to be my favourite on the album. Sunchase has some incredible sounds coming out recently and if you haven’t had the chance to listen to much from him make sure to check out his mixes.

Amoss – Calokan

Amoss has always been one of my go to artists and this track explains why. Heavy sub, brilliant texture and the overall atmosphere is mesmerising. Slowly gathering pace, the whole track is incredible. There isn’t anything I’d add or take away from it.

Quadrant + Iris + Homemade Weapons – Pembroke

The preview of this track doesn’t do it justice so I included a juno download link so you can preview some more of the track. The quality of production on this track is breath taking. Then again you can’t expect anything less from names of this calibre. The spacey atmosphere in this track is something I love.

Odyssey – Expressions (Cryogenics Re-Edit)

A re-edit made a few years back from Cryogenics of an Odyssey track called ‘Expressions’.

Even though this track is years old it’s recently been made available for free download so I thought I would share it with everyone who reads this post.

Again the atmosphere in this track is sublime, offering the ability for your imagination to go wild. Those old rolling drums make a beautiful backing to everything else that is going on.

Xtrah – No Good

I only stumbled upon this track the day of writing this. All I really need to say about this track is give it a listen. It’s always good to see Metalheadz giving a platform for “newcomers” to showcase their work and it’s always been a pleasure to listen.
